Anyone have any cabbage recipes?

normaly i dint eat cabbage but my husband says he would like to have some but i dint know what to do withAnyone have any cabbage recipes?
I was staying at a friend's house when I made this cabbage dish. It was the first time they had eaten it that way and liked it so much they asked me to make it again the next night.

1/2 head cabbage (heart removed) - shredded

1/3 lb bacon - cut into small strips

1/2 onion - shredded

Black pepper to taste

Saute the bacon and onion until the onion is translucent and the bacon is just starting to brown. Remove all but 2 T of the bacon grease if there is more than that there. Add the cabbage and stir well to coat. Add 1/2 cup boiling water with 1 tsp chicken base dissolved in it (like a bouillon cube but wetter). Add black pepper to taste. Give another stir. Cover and steam for 3 minutes. Give another stir. You will do that until the cabbage is wilted. Done!! Enjoy!

My hubby isn't fond of boiled cabbage with weiners or spare ribs but he loves this recipe.Anyone have any cabbage recipes?
Rick's Cabbage Salad

Recipe Number: 1051144006

Contributor: Rick

Ingredients:

2 packets almonds (1/3 cup each)

1 can crushed pineapple

1/2 regular cabbage

1/2 purple cabbage Dressing:

3 Tbsp. sugar

1/4 cup vegetable Oil

1 tsp. sesame Oil

1/2 tsp. salt

3 Tbsp. rice vinegar

Cooking Instructions:

Preheat oven 350 degrees. Roast almonds 10-15 minutes or until lightly brown, set aside. Julienne cabbage and mix well in large container. Mix oriental dressing, better to double for your liking, best put in empty bottle or salad dressing shaker. Before serving, mix all ingredients and add can of pineapple (Best if chilled). If can find, add 1 package of Nissin ramen noodles, orange stripe with little chick on left bottom corner of package.

Additional Comments:

Better to refrigerate the can of pineapple and cabbage before serving and have the dressing in a empty bottle and if can put the almonds in a zip lock bag with a packet of absorbent to keep it from sogging, mix all ingredients right before serving and watch the faces, I used to hate cabbage til I ate this stuff.
Pork Loin and Cabbage

Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper, and brown on both sides in the skillet. Place the cabbage on top of the chops, and sprinkle with seasoned salt and Worcestershire sauce. Cover skillet and cook 15 minutes.

Uncover skillet, place chops on top of the cabbage, and continue cooking 15 minutes, or until pork chops are done.

I make sauteed cabbage. I shred a head of cabbage, and a large onion and a couple large carrots. I add to that a couple cloves of garlic chopped with salt %26amp; pepper to taste. I saute them in a frying pan with a couple tablespoons of olive oil until tender. You may have to add more or less depending on the size of the cabbage. To change the flavor I sometimes add about 1/3 cup of cider vinegar with a couple tablespoons of sugar. Gives it a kind of sweet and sour taste.
I'm a big fan of stuffed cabbage. Here's a recipe with cranberry sauce, but you could use tomato sauce:

Stuffed Cabbage with Cranberry %26amp; Tomato Sauce

Yield 6 servings

11/2 lb lean ground beef

1/3 cup uncooked parboiled (converted) rice

1 large egg

3/4 tsp ground allspice

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

12 savoy cabbage leaves (see Note)

1 can (16 oz) whole-berry cranberry sauce

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes with onion and garlic

1/2 cup raisins, preferably golden

1/3 cup packed light-brown sugar

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

Mix first 6 ingredients in a bowl. Spoon a slightly rounded 1/4 cup of mixture on bottom center of each cabbage leaf; turn in sides and roll up.

Stack in slow cooker, seam sides down. Top with remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low 7 hours or until cabbage is soft and meat mixture is cooked through.

Note: The crinkled leaves of savoy cabbage are quite soft and pliable, so precooking is unnecessary. Cut the hard rib from each leaf. If savoy cabbage is unavailable, freeze a head of regular green cabbage at least 24 hours. As the head thaws, the leaves should become soft and peel off easily.

You could also make homemade coleslaw with apples.

I love sausages and cabbage...Put cabbage in a pan..bag or cut your own..however depending how much you want.. the cabbage shrinks.. cut sweet onion put together and fry..until they soften..don't over cook season the way you like.. (In another pan fry your meat..or bake which ever you like.. combine both... cook a few more minutes so the flavors mix..meat and cabbage..serve with crusty bread..and butter..enjoy.oh you can use breakfast sausages. that's the way i like them.
