Anyone have a good sausage and cabbage recipe?

I've got a package of sausage and a head of cabbage. Anyone have a quick easy sausage and cabbage recipe sure to please a family of five?Anyone have a good sausage and cabbage recipe?
1 pound sausage, cut into 1/4 inch slices


1 small head cabbage, chopped


1 medium green pepper, chopped


1 medium sweet onion, chopped


2 medium potatoes, thinly sliced


2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce


1 garlic clove, minced


salt and pepper to taste





In a large skillet, brown the sausage; drain. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Cover and cook for 15 minutes or until the vegetables are tender. Anyone have a good sausage and cabbage recipe?
this braised sausage and cabbage dish is awesome! Right from my cook book. I like using smoked turkey sausage but you can use any sausage you like.





Braised Cabbage and Turkey Sausage

2 c. 1” diced celery


2 c. 1” diced red onion


8 to 10 c. chunked cabbage, cored


8 links turkey sausage


Salt and pepper to taste





In a 12” Dutch oven, cook the turkey sausage over medium heat with 1 Tbs. olive oil. Remove sausage and set aside.


Add 1 Tbs. olive oil and sauté celery and onion for 8 to 10 minutes until slightly browned. Add cabbage chunks and ½ c. water or chicken broth. Cook cabbage 8 to 10 minutes, until slightly wilted.


While the cabbage is cooking, slice the sausage into bite sized pieces, then add to cabbage, stir. Salt and pepper to taste. Cook 8 to 10 minutes more to heat sausage. Serve with garlic mashed potatoes.

CABBAGE - SAUSAGE CASSEROLE





1 lb. real country sausage


1 sm. can tomatoes


2 pods garlic


1 med. head cabbage





Pour boiling water over cabbage. Let set until wilted. Separate the leaves and wrap a cup of the sausage in each leaf, folding in the ends like a bundle. Lay in heavy fryer or small roaster; when all are in, cut up the onion and garlic. Sprinkle all over. Pour on tomatoes. Salt and pepper to taste. Cover and bake in 350 degree oven for 3/4 hour or until done.

SAUSAGE AND CABBAGE PIE





2 lbs. sausage and hamburger


1 c. coarsely chopped peeled onion


1 med. cabbage, about 2 lbs., cored and cut in 1-inch pieces (8-10 c.)


1 (16 oz.) can whole peeled tomatoes, undrained


1 tbsp. sugar


1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves


1 1/2 tsp. salt


1/4 tsp. pepper


1 recipe of cornbread mixed, for topping





Brown sausage and onion in large skillet over medium heat. Drain, and add cabbage, tomatoes, sugar, basil, salt, and pepper. Reduce heat to low and cook covered 15 minutes. During this time prepare topping.


Next, mix 2 tablespoons flour and 1/4 cup cold water together and then add to cabbage mixture. Cook until thickened. Pour sausage mixture into an ungreased, deep 2-quart casserole. Place the topping on the filling and bake as directed in corn bread recipe. Makes 4-6 servings.

CABBAGE AND SAUSAGE SOUP





2 tbsp. butter


1/4 c. finely chopped onion


1/4 c. finely chopped celery


4 to 6 potatoes, cut up


1/2 lb. Polish sausage, sliced


2 - 10 oz. cans chicken broth


4 c. shredded cabbage (about 1/4 head)


10 oz. pkg. frozen peas


1 tsp. seasoned salt


1/8 tsp. thyme


1/8 tsp. marjoram


Salt and pepper to taste





Melt butter in large saucepan. Add chopped onion and celery and sliced sausage. Cook and stir until vegetables are limp and clean and sausage is beginning to brown. Add chicken stock and cabbage and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer and cook for 5 minutes. Taste for seasoning and add salt and pepper as needed. Don't over cook. Makes about 2 1/2 quarts.





OR





SAUSAGE AND CABBAGE





1 lb. country sausage (hot)


1 bell pepper, chopped


1 onion, chopped


1 med. head cabbage, chopped


1 qt. tomatoes


Salt and pepper





Brown sausage, bell pepper and onion in skillet. Partially cook cabbage in a quart of water. Add tomatoes and sausage mixture; add salt and pepper. Cook for 30 minutes to an hour.
